Don’t forget this detail!! Every wedding dress needs to be steamed the week before the wedding. Your dress will have gotten very wrinkly from alterations, transport, and being stored in the bag. Make sure you have a plan for steaming your dress.

What’s the difference between steaming and pressing?
Both wedding dress steaming and wedding dress pressing remove wrinkles, but they work in different ways. Steaming uses gentle steam to relax the fabric and release wrinkles without direct contact, making it the safest option for delicate fabrics, lace, tulle, and intricate beading. Pressing uses an iron with heat and pressure to create crisp, smooth finishes on structured fabrics.
At Bella Brides, we recommend steaming for most wedding dresses as it is the safest and most gentle option, but in some cases with very structured fabrics or with dresses that have been stored in a compressed state for a long period of time, pressing might be necessary.
